Romantic Island Posted at 01:22 AM I'm glad Korean cinema decided to shoot a movie like this. It was as if my country was so beautiful in their eyes. Well it is for places like Boracay and such. I'm just glad it captured their hearts. Since we are addicted to their pop culture, and I'm glad in exchange they love our beaches. Whenever I travel for domestic places I always see Korean tourists! There has been really a big number of them touring our shores. Okay okay, going to the movie...it is basically a story of three couples each having their own way but having the same setting in Boracay. Two couples started out as strangers that then became lovers, while the last pair is a married couple who refreshes their love for eachother. It is nice to know that such a setting can make a difference for people. No wonder it was called Romantic Island due to the clear ocean water, crisp blue sky and pearly white sand. The twist in the end was quite intriguing, the part when the clock struck at 12. Haha! The story was really light, except for the one who wanted to kill himself. I am truly biased because it was shot here. I can't say that it was something different than other stories because you had the star-meets-ordinary-man theme, boss-meets-perky-girl theme, and the I-want-to-die or I-want-to-run-away sort of thing. They had to compress it all in one movie, and it was engaging in its own way. I just want to complain about the Filipino song used. Why choose "Ocho-ocho" to have Korean exposure? there are so many other songs!!!!! Oh I get it. They wanted a danceable song, and our dance songs here are only the corny ones. They wanted a song that was close to Kpop. So sorry that we don't have good songs close to Kpop. The best OPM songs out here are from bands, divas and balladeers. Okay. Fine. Make Magic
